We canceled January’s Roc Day event due to Icy weather,  which meant we also canceled  a vendor’s day and our Roc Day luncheon.   Guild members have asked if it is possible to have the vendors event and luncheon in February.    Enough guild members have spoken up about this and thus we will have our bring a dish luncheon in February.  And guild members will be able to bring new things to sell and also their de-stash items to sell.

For anyone new to de-stash,  it is when guild members bring new items or items in good condition that they have too much of, no longer need or simply won’t get around to using.   Items can be sold, swapped or donated.  Items should be fiber or craft related.

We also hope to have a workshop on how to use a Lucet to make a cord.   If you have a Lucet bring it.  Don’t forget to bring something to share for lunch,  items for sale or destash,  cash or checks,    And as always, the food donation basket will be  out  for donations of non-perishable items to support the church we meet in.

And don’t forget to renew memberships at $12.00 for the year.

Check back for any updates or changes.

November 1st 2014 will be our 7th anniversary celebration. Bring a dish to pass for our luncheon. There may also be vendors at this meeting. Members are welcome to bring friends and family.

Guild members will be meeting Saturday August 2nd at the church at our usual time, but our meeting will end at 2:30 pm instead of 4pm

Don’t forget that next month is the Whingblinger Harvest Festival at the Benjamin Patterson Inn Museum in Corning NY. Details will be posted on the upcoming events page as we get them. Meanwhile here are a couple of photos of guild members at a previous festival at the Inn.

A reminder that there will be no regular guild meetings in June or July.

June 7th – trip to Textile Museum

July 5th – guild picnic

For more details check the Upcoming Events page.

The usual room we use for guild meetings will not be available. Instead we will be meeting in a smaller room in the church. The Dexter street entrance will not be open. Enter through the main doors and the room we will be meeting in is to the right.

For March’s Women in the Arts event, we repeated a silk scarf workshop done last year in March. It was so popular then that Steele Memorial Library requested this repeat workshop.

Roc Day celebation – starting 11 am – 4pm – bring something good to eat to share with others.   We will have some friendly competition through a few games.  We will also have raffle items and a silent auction.  Items for raffle and auction are welcome. Membership renewal payments due at the January meeting
