Archive for January, 2008

Good weather and a blurb in the local paper brought quite a few visitors to our January meeting and some new members.   With all the visitors we felt like we were quickly out growing our current location.

We didn’t have as many vendors as we’d hoped, but we did really well for a guild that  is only a few months old.  We have lots of ideas for next years event.

We had a nice variety of dishes for the Bring-A-Dish-Luncheon…. delicious!

One of our young members, Rosie,  played some ‘spinning’ songs on her fiddle.   We missed taking a photo of her playing her fiddle, but did get this photo of her spinning and chatting with other members.

A vendor’s table …

Eve’s table

We had a great time meeting new folks, sharing projects, tips and ideas.   We plan for next year to be bigger and better.

Newsletter will be going out early next week.  If there is something you want to have in the newsletter, please leave a comment or use the email link.

Next month (February 2nd) will be a regular meeting.  We have some guild business to discuss and then members will have time to share projects they have completed or are working on, ideas, etc.

For those interested, Eve will do a needle felting demo after the business part of the meeting is finished.   There will be two spring related projects members can work on.  Members will need felting needles and foam or other surface to work on.  Some foam will be available but if you have some,  bring it, as there may not be enough for everyone.  Also, if you don’t have felting needles, some will be available for purchase.   Wool for the projects will be provided.

Thanks to everyone who helped to make Rock Day a fun event!  See you all on February 2nd.

A reminder that our January 5th meeting will be a Roc Day (call it what you want) Celebration.

We will be having a dish-to-pass-luncheon.

Spinning fibers, yarn, patterns, feling needles and other fiber related items will be available for purchase.

As usual we will be bringing our spinning, knitting and other projects to work on and share with others.

Please come and bring your friends!
